AR trigger?

I have put together a few ARs. One used a mil spec trigger. Inexpensive and goes bang as needed, but nothing to write home about. For the others I went with ALG ACT triggers, which seemed liked the best choice for the money. I am now in the process of expanding my collection of ARs and am wondering about two things. In the ACT's price range is there a better choice? If not, could someone point me to a supplier that has good prices on these triggers or a supplier who includes these triggers in their LPK?

I just got a Hiperfire EDT3, haven't had a chance to shoot with it yet but it seems pretty nice. My go to fire group is an ALG ACT trigger with a JP Red reliability spring kit and a trigger adjuster from joeboboutfitters. I think I like this setup better than the Hiperfire kit I just got personally. I also have a Geisselle two-stage which is pretty sweet too.

I usually get my ACT's from White Oak Armament, Joe Bob's, or Primary Arms

My first AR build still uses a Spike's Tactical Battle Trigger, which I think of as being representative of the just-better-than-milspec class of triggers in that price range. I'll bet it's not very different from an ALG QMS. It's OK, but it's not even in the same ballpark as the CMC triggers I just used on a pair of builds. One gets what one pays for.

Look into a drop in trigger they are night and day diff from those triggers you mentioned

I have a Rock River 2 stage NM and it's great! But at $85 on that build-your-own website, I would definitely be considering one of those other options.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. For the most part these triggers appear to be almost identical and a step up from the ACT. Looks like a coin toss between the Mech Defense and the Velocity. Only question is whether a 3lb trigger is too light for a gun that includes self defense? Most of my handguns are 4 to 4.5 lbs but I do have a 1911 with a 2lb trigger that I am getting used to.

I shot my LR308 with the ALG ACT in it the other day and enjoyed the reminder that it was smoother, lighter, and more predictable than any of my basic AR triggers.

This. Timneys in all my ARs. Love them- but in fairness haven't tried the others mentioned- I know there are a lot of quality after market triggers available just depends if want to spend $65 or $200- either way it will be night and day from any milspec-

my Daniel Defense triggers out of the box were just awful. Same as LMT- gritty as ever- oddly enough the best trigger out of the box I ever had was on my old Charles Daly AR- CD not known for ARs and don't make anymore/company sold but that CD AR bought many many years ago still running strong and use same carry handle sights came with- love that rifle. But I digress.

Or, get two of them and the hats to match, with a capital "G" on them. The hats feel as nice as the triggers and fit nicer than others and don't have the little round bump that my ear muffs try to drive through my skull, like some of my other hats do.

I tried to cheap out on my 9mm AR. A polished milspec trigger and yellow jp springs were great, but they would not light magnum small pistol primers and stock springs were just not going to cut it (but they did light the primers).

The black friday sale came at just the right time for me, so now both of my 3 gun rifles have S3G triggers in them. It was well worth upgrading, never mind that I spent the savings on buying mag primers at a great price, on a new trigger. Oh well, it is a good excuse and beats standard primers and a want-to-be trigger.

I have ALG ACT triggers in all of my builds except for a basic mil spec build that I built basically for testing my reloads. For the money, they are great, although it now appears that they may have some competition. For one of my next builds I will be going with Mega Arms billet upper and lower receivers and figured it deserved a better trigger. Again, thanks to everyone for their recommendations.
