MP5 Receiver

I want to build a MP5 clone pistol or rifle I haven't decided yet. I do want to buy a receiver first but I don't want the receiver kits that you have to weld and bend. I could use some help on where to buy a finished receiver and any ideas you guys may have. Thanks

Any receiver you buy is going to need the trunnion and cocking tube welded in, and if you want to build a pistol bending a flat is the only way as you cant get a stripped pistol receiver in CA.

just buy a gun.

You can buy a completed receiver but it will still need welding. The only tru completed receivers would be a barreled receiver. You can contact Carlos at Beltfed in Corona and he will build you a gun or here is a receiver that you can PPT if you are in Socal and build from but installing the front trunnion requires knowing what you are doing so that when you install the barrel you get the bolt gap correct.

Its not that hard if you can weld at all. I did it as my second welding project a while ago. What exactly do you plan on doing in the build if you are not welding and bending the receiver?

I've never built one or know anyone who has so that's why I'm trying to get advice on how. I've built ARs and AKs and now want to tackle one of these if I can.

It's apples to oranges compared to an Ar or Ak. Those are super easy compared to a roller lock

I did it in two days in my garage with a 12 ton press and a tig welder. If you pm me I would be happy to help you figure out if this is something you should undertake.
