That barrel was made by Faxon, under license from Knights Armament. I'm not sure if it's available as a separate purchase.

You might reach out to Bentwood Gunsmithing to see if it's been (or will be) made available as a separate purchase.

You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
    Come on...what harm??

Called, they won't sell anything individually and won't sell their rifles anymore to the public

        DELIVERY ALERT!!!

Milspec barrel nut came in and was .1 ounces lighter than I originally anticipated coming in at a confirmed weight of 1.2 ounces...

        That makes me happy...

Tracking says stock will be here around 3pm when the normal mail comes in

My OIP carbine has all sorts of niche lightweight bits. The barrel is dimpled, the MB is Ti, the non-adjustable Ti gas block is almost non-existent, etc, etc.

It's a balanced system too...this is the softest shooting AR I own. But that's why I paid the $$.

OP, looking forward to your complete build and range report!!

Isn't cerakoting going to add weight to the rifle. Just curious

Let's forget about dirt getting into that upper.... but more importantly, how will it even hold lube? Unless you're using Froglube (which I can't stand), normal lube is just going to run out all over the place. So much for running it wet. Was just on F1's website, and they consider the milled out sides of the upper a "unnecessary surface".... okayyyyyy...

Totally impractical and illogical. I like it!

Now ditch the muzzle fob, switch to pistol hand guard and drill lightening holes in the receiver extension and give it to the chico psa rifle guy for testing.

*Why doesn't someone build the heaviest AR15 clone? 20lbs minimum to qualify.
Sorry. Just trying to get ahead of the next fad AR15 clone assembly curve.
                        Carry on.

Well I thought about it and these are my suspicions so far

My lightweight Bcg is polished nickel boron - minimal lube needed

The lightweight bcg has minimal surface area - minimal lube needed

And there is no evidence of anyone online who owns one complains about any issues with an f1 upper so for some reason I think it'll be ok...

As for cerakoted adding weight.. I hope it's minimal.. As I understand cerakoted is so thin that it shouldn't produce any additional noticeable weight.. But wel see

CMP service rifles don't have a weight limit... although I don't think many are actually adding enough to make it 20+ pounds.
