    Tavor expierence

I want to add a bullpup rifle to my collection and the tavor interests me the most. Those with expierence with one tell me about it. What was the accuracy like, handling, recoil impulse, etc.?

I live in NV so don't have the same oal restrictions that CA does. I'm probably going with the 16" version if I decide to buy one.

Bought one when it first came out, my first non-bullet button rifle purchase in Nevada. Very compact, but as everyone has mentioned the trigger is mushy but can now be fixed with aftermarket triggers. Recoil wise, on par with AR, disassembly was easy.

Some quirks - the magazine release is intuitive, but reports of forearms bumping by accident and dropping it without shooter realizing it.

The bolt hold open little awkward to manipulate if you need to do without empty magazine.

Sold mine, and now I have an FN SCAR 16.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you let your used tavor go for? I'm trying to get an idea of what I can pick a used one up for.

I've found it to be a really excellent gun. As many have said, the trigger isn't crisp, but it really isn't that bad. I have the 18" version, and when I shot IMI 77 gr. RAZOR core through it with a scope, it was a serious tack driver.

Recoil is really smooth - I think it's a little smoother than an AR carbine, about the same as some of my heavy barrel DMR guns.

The balance of the gun is really nice - some people take a little while to get used to it, but once you shoot it for a bit, it just feels right.

The last two friends who shot my Tavor ended up buying one for themselves, but I wouldn't put much weighting into that because they buy guns for no good reason

I actually traded it. I saw CDNN special for $1599 BNIB, so if you can around 1400 or so used, that would be great deal

I have no experience with them, but I want one. Most everything I've read is positive.

I don't own one but Iv shot it...

First thing Iv notices is how heavy it was.. Definitely didn't expect it..

It was accurate and a real tack driver..

                  Bolt hold open was weird..

Before shooting it I kind of wanted one... After shooting it, I have no interest in one now

Very heavy. Points quickly. Crappy trigger. You'll have to spend a few hundred more for a good trigger.

I much prefer the AR platform.

I bought a Geissele trigger for mine 6 months ago and only got to shoot it yesterday. Did not have time with the move and other business obligations. I had removed the extra spring from the stock trigger, so it wasn't too bad. The Geissele trigger transformed the gun. A+.

Geissele Super Sabra pack + Lightning bow = awesome trigger.

Not just awesome trigger. But one of the biggest triggers I've ever used. I own 3 bullpups. The Super Sabra + Lightning Bow easily makes the Tavor the best bullpup out there.
