I was in the Corona Turners yesterday returning some handgun locks (they are one of the cool stores) and the line there was insane. Asked them the obvious...if this was related to SanBerdo. Cashier said that the San Bernardino Turners has routinely had to lock their freakin' doors because of fire marshall/max store capacity.
Figure I would do a drive by, if parking lot full will try another day.

Turners said limit 5 per DROS, not really sure myself.

80% lower sounds interesting, but I don't think this will work for most people. Unless you build/mill a few a year, it's not worth buy all the tools. Plus most 80% lower I see, cost just as much or more than a completed lower. The only benefit with 80% is not having to wait 10 days.

Uhhhh...yeah, and that itty-bitty teeny-tiny benefit of nobody knowing you own it. Nobody buys 80% lowers to save money.

That's how I felt prior to buying some myself. I wanted to build 2 AR pistols really bad so for me there was no other option. I bought four TM 80% lowers and a PSD 9mm 80% lower. The TM lowers were $29 each and the PSD was 3x that but hey. I got lucky and picked up a 80% Arms easy jig at the OC gun show at a great price. I bought end-mills from a guy on Amazon and the drill bit stops from Home Depot. I already owned the drill bits, a drill press, and full-sized cheapy Harbor Freight router. Did some this weekend with zero issues.

So shop around, think ahead, and get your parts/tools where you can.

The tools and how to use them is one problem some may face, but I have 80's that ran from 50$ to 200$ and to get the equivalent lower in 100% would definitely be more money.

I happen to have a full garage full of tools
so its a no brainer to make an 80% here
even my first one was with the crappiest smallest drill press you could barely use to make one and I made it just fine for never doing one, still use that lower today

I did upgrade to better tools, and now can make them quicker and cleaner
and dont see a need to have to upgrade the tools anymore

Im very impatient I can sit around for weeks thinking of buying something
all that time could of been towards the 10 day wait if I would of bought it much earlier

then add the ffl fees, taxes, more waiting, fuel back and forth
                  all that can add up

My very first build years ago was an ak, from a parts kit
that was very hard, took way more work and skills and of course I had never done anything like that so it was all new to me

milling out ar lowers is quite easy especially the polymer ones compared to building an ak and much cheaper

once I do a couple more, then all the others will be basically free because I will have paid for all the tools by then compared to buying ones from a dealer as long as I dont tear up my jig or any tools

Crowds were not too bad. 5 numbers ahead of me (Turners Torrance). Picked up my lowers, out within an hour. Saw 3 people taking test, and one person buying AR. Lots of rifles on shelf. Shelf was void of Glock 9mms..

People are still complaining that our Anderson lowers for $59 are too much. They sure as he'll aren't buying the $100 LRB or $125 Yankee Hill lowers.

Turners still has plenty of the Anderson lowers for $59. I DROSd 2 this afternoon at the Reseda store. I wanted to buy these since their fall flyer came out but never got the chance to go. Well, today I finally had some time.

I was a bit afraid to go given the bedlam I thought would be there. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised - crowd was not too bad. Pulled a number and was called in about 20 min. Another 15-20 min to complete the DROS and pay and I was on my way.

Seems like there is hysteria occurring but seems a lot less than 2012.

Are they saying that's the limit on how many on sale lowers they will sell one person? I just recently processed 11 lowers on one dros.
