Im looking for an out of state gunsmith to convert an ak pistol to rifle

Anyone know of any out of state gunsmiths that can convert an ak Draco pistol to a rifle for me?

Without a stamp, it cannot be converted as it is registered as a handgun.

Now, if you live in a free state and you want to convert one all you have to do is apply for a SBR tax stamp, wait a few months for it and then do the conversion.

Oh yeah, just remember to keep it at your out of state residence because it would be a felony to bring it into the enlightened State of Kalifornia.

How can he not? Awhile back, ati was importing an mke mp5 pistol with a 16 inch barrel so you could convert it state side to a carbine, and bypass all the sporting regs after 922r, they were sold in Cali during sse and a few people converted them to carbine, why he couldn't have someone out of state lengthen the barrel and add a stock ?

How so?
It's not registered as a handgun in CA until the DROS process is completed.
An out-of-CA person can just perm attach a muzzle device to reach 16" and then swap out the rear trunion to one that accepts a stock...
Then, the gun gets DROS'd as a rifle after it arrives in CA.

Federally, there is NO problem going from pistol to rifle.
Federally, you can NOT go from rifle to pistol.

U can do it but u need a muzzle extension to get it to meet OAL and barrel length requirements...
