SKS stripper clip problem

Hi, all

I hope this isn't the wrong place to post this question. If so, please forgive.

I own a "letter series" Model 56 SKS carbine made in China. If I am not mistake those guns were built on machinery that was transferred by the Soviets after they discontinued use of the SKS.

I purchased some stripper clips on ebay but they don't fit in the slot on the receiver. I am wondering if there is a way to tell which stripper clips will fit. Does anyone else have any experience with this problem? Any solutions?

Sometimes they will be snug. Did you buy knock off reproductions, or genuine stripper clips? Try this guy:

If the stripper won't fit in the slot while the bolt is retracted then it is the wrong size or manufactured poorly or both.
Caveat emptor my friend. There's a lot of crap out there.
IME some/most of the strippers need a rework to feed correctly anyway.

In addition to the comments above -- sometimes you have to lightly file down the outside edges of the clip(s) to fit, other times you have to give them a light squeeze with pliers (or both).
Note the silver part on the leading edges, it doesn't take much:

Buy a case of Yugoslavian ammo on stripper clips then sell of the ammo if you are not comfortable shooting corrosive ammo. I have never had any problems with these type as they are 100% military spec. I have purchased NC Star clips(which most reproduction clips tend to be) in the past and only had about a 50% success rate with them. The rest had to be filed down or tweaked with pliers. Too much of a hassle and not worth the time or money if you ask me.
