    Hornady TAP loads for deer?

A friend has a piece of whitetail land where the shots are never more than 75 yards. I was wondering if the Hornady .223 TAP 60 grain Urban load would suffice. What say you? No lectures, please...Thanks.

described as fragmenting, so I would say no.

given the widely accepted view that .223 is marginal for deer, I would stick with something made for hunting. http://www.hornady.com/store/223-REM...GMX-Full-Boar/ or http://www.hornady.com/store/223-REM-60-GR-SP-AW/

If you know your stuff, yes. If its your first time or new hunter.... nope.

Ive used 45hr vmax for 1 shot drop on deer but they are close shots. Less than 40 yards.

70gr TSX would be a much better round to use

55grn vmax on top of a case full of varget. No double tap or tracking needed.

There are much better bullets out there, and much better loaded ammunition for your task. As such, I would put the TAP Urban away and find a different load.

That's fake, everyone knows a .223 has to be at least, AT LEAST using 110gr bullets to kill a rodent. Imagine a deer, you'll have to double up on the bullet weight to even penetrate skin.

I've shot plenty of deer with a 223. And have many buddies who have as well. Although not the best most popular caliber for deer, it is definitely doable. I wouldn't however use that ammo. I've had awesome experience with fusions and tsx.
