"Been there, done that" 603 Retro porn

Yes, I know it is an A2 lower...but, less the lower and lower parts kit, I have just over $600 into the build. "There are many Retros. but this one is mine!" Besides, it has a custom 1/7 twist A1 "pencil barrel," so I can shoot everything from 55 grain M193 to 77 grain MK262 MOD1!

Looks nice, just missing a selector location... it's worthless, send to me for disposal.

Edit: good question: does anyone make lowers for clone builds that have the burst or auto marking, but have the high shelf and no hole for the auto sear?

I have been getting emails and IMs asking about the source of the 1/7 retro barrel. Lionel Lin, AKA Boywonder777 on Gunbroker and AR15.com had a bunch (about 20 units) made up by John Thomas (master retro-smith) of RetroArmsWorks.com .

They are new CMMG 20" 1/7" twist A1 profile pencil barrels, Colt M16A1 FSB and sight, Colt M16 birdcage flash hider and correct split washer, a flat slip ring group (with weld spring, and snap ring, and barrel nut). Demill handguards, that need repair, are available. They also come with Colt M16 gas tube and roll pin. He still has some. He sells for $275 Buy it now on Gunbroker. I have been dealing with Lionel for years, and he is a straight up guy, and a first class vendor. I get nothing from this plug, but know that a lot of you guys like retros but don't want 1/12 barrels, or even 1/9! He also sells lots of other retro AR and standard AR parts.

                  His email is: iams0b3@gmail.com

I agree! You know, I was trained by Uncle Sam in 1974 to be a "RIFLEMAN" first and Military Policeman second. Iron sights, no whistles, goohgahs, and bells, no optics or lasers to get out of whack or have the batteries go dead on.

The M16A1 is light, powerful, and nasty to 250 yards with M193 (which yaws fragments out to about 200-250 yards from a 20 inch barreled M16A1). The M4 with it's 14.5 inch barrel and M855 ammo, barely passes 80-85 yards before it drops below critical fragmentation velocity.

Granted the new Army "Green" 62 rounders, and Marine MK318 (or whatever it is called) does perform better than M855. The M193, however, from a 20" is hard to beat...except maybe for MK262 MOD1 77s from a 20" barrel!

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Going to the local indoor 50 yard range to 25 yard battle sight it Tuesday, along with the Saiga. I'll use Federal Lake City M193, since this is a plinker with a BB. I'll also pop some MK262s, just to see how close they print. In the M4gery I had, both printed the same basic POI at 100. From my 582 Series Mini, the MK262 77s shot 3" right at 100 yards!
