    Please help ID this barrel

This barrel is being offered in a trade. The owner received it in a trade himself, so he doesn't know much about it either. We were both hoping the community could help us determine the manufacturer or any other pertinent information.

It is roll marked "USA" and "032515"

    Length: 10.5"
    Cal: .223 Wylde
    Twist: 1:8

Moreover, I was planning to install a 5.56 NATO barrel with a 1:7 twist. If I'm using 55 or 62 grain 5.56 NATO ammo, will reliability or performance be compromised or measurably effected by using a .223 Wylde barrel?

    Thanks!

    It's probably one of these:
Premium Grade Parkerized AR-15 Contour Profile Barrel, 10.5",1 in 8 twist Gas port drilled for carbine length gas set up, and threaded for comp.Barrel Extension in rear with M4 feed ramps... drilled with a .093" gas port opening at carbine length. It has a .750 gas block diameter,  ready to install into receiver..223 Wylde Don't forget the AeroShell 33MS Mil Spec Armorer's Grease!

A 223 Wylde will have equal reliability to a 5.56 barrel.
The Wylde chamber is usually more accurate than a 5.56 barrel.

I don't know why they would stamp the mfg date on it. 223w is along the lines of a match grade barrel. As long as the gas port doesn't have any obstructions and the crown doesn't have a nicks, it should be a shooter. Good luck!

Not sure if anyone's noticed, but a lot of current production AR barrels are wylde chamber, from dirt cheap vendors like Anderson & Bear Creek to top tier brands like Noveske & Seekins, everyone seems to be going wild for Wylde.

This barrel could be from anywhere.

The Wylde chamber is nothing more than a larger than spec 5.56 NATO body, shoulder, and neck with a match type lead and throat.
