Pillar Bedding and Tac Bolt Knobs

    Hey guys,

I'd like to pillar bed my FN. Is this something that can be done myself? Should I send it off to a pro to do it? Also, I'm not the biggest fan of the bolt knob on my rifle. Is kinda small and has very rough textured groves on it that don't make for the most comfortable operation. I was considering a bolt knob job of some sort. What should I use and who can install them?
Replying to craigslist for casual encounters is like pokemon with STDs. Gotta catch em all
If Hell ever needed a operations manual all it would need is a copy of California's laws

    Pillar bedding is pretty simple.
You are going to drill out the existing holes in the stock and epoxy the pillars into place.
The key is to be sure you drill the holes in the right place.
The pillars get mounted to the action to locate them and you set the whole action down into the stock and let the epoxy cure.

I did one of those FN bolts and the steel was a ***** to turn down into a post and thread.
I think the next ones will get done by welding on a threaded stud after cutting off the factory knob.

Thats exactly how I was thinking of doing the bolt knob if I had access to the tools. Man I miss shop class.

        He does FN bolts: http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubb...file&User=6454

I think he charges extra though..So to purchase the knob and have him install it and ship it to you costs like $90.
