Zastava PAP M77PS questions

Hey guys and gals,

So the zastava pap m77ps has had my eye for awhile. I have not yet researched very well into the performance of this rifle or any of its known quirks or downsides, but I do know that I love the AK platform and the .308 round. I know some might say, "Dude, no. Go with the VEPR .308", to which I would reply, too many proprietary parts for my liking. I've looked for a NON-Thumbstock wood stock for the Vepr .308 and can't find one.

That said, take a look at this photo of it I pulled from google search. If that thumbstock hole were plugged, would it still count as a pistol grip configuration? It LOOKS like yes but I want the critics to give me their views.

I like mine. It's not a precision rifle by any means, but I'm sure you knew that. Plugging the hole in the stock would render it featureless. As far as proprietary parts, You're pretty much in the same boat. The only drop in replacement parts for the m77 are the hand guards(even those have to be yugo specific) and the FCG. Everything else on it is specific to the m77.

Also I found on mine that it was very uncomfortable to shoot with irons due to the high comb on the original stock. I opted for an ace stock on mine. Might switch it back when I finally get around to putting some glass on it.
