I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for"

I've already stated this before but I don't get after anyone for their choice in purchasing products. Its your money and you can do as you please. That's why our country is considered one of if not the greatest right? But for *my* piece of mind, I stick to brands with proven track records because I want a product that functions, a product that delivers, and one that's going to last.

-Just listing off the top of my head... The order of this list does not reflect their quality

1.Daniel Defense (Uppers, Lowers, complete rifles, barrels, etc)
2.Laure Tactical (Rifles that are considered Tack Drivers, hyper accurate barrels, triggers, optic & flashlight mounts, etc)
3.Bravo Company Manufacturing (Everything they make is top quality)
4.Battle Arms Development (Aesthetic Uppers, barrels, ambi safety selectors, etc)
5.Wilson Combat (Everything they make is top quality)
    6.Spikes Tactical (They make everything)
7.Young Manufacturing (Superb Bolt Carrier Groups that lots of 3-gunners use)
8.Centurion Arms (Barrels, rails, gas blocks, uppers)
9.Mega Arms (barrels, rails, uppers, triggers, lowers, etc)
10.Palemetto State Armory (Little bit of everything) - I've never had any experience with this company but lots of calgunners love them

Probably a few others out there that I missed I know for sure but this list is usually my go to when purchasing products

Spikes doesn't make all their stuff. Seekins makes some of their rails and uppers.

I have Parallax Tactical uppers and PSA. The PSA upper was an impulse purchase. I thought I would build a beater gun. It came with a CHF barrel, BCG, and charging handle for less than $300. The upper is like a sewing machine and has quickly become of my favorite upper. Very reliable and decent accuracy. We aren't talking sub MOA, but it does the job I ask it too.

I have been lucky and have not experienced a bad upper.

I apologize. I meant more like what they have to offer in terms of quality. I'm aware that all of these companies don't manufacture "everything in house"

Yeah, PTAC is fine for a plinker AR, BUT...the barrels are button rifled and not chrome lined. Not a bad thing, but usually they need a BCG as well.

              .
90% of all AR15 barrels are button rifled. Some will shoot 1/2" at 100 yds.
Hart, Shilen, Broughton, are real button rifled match grade barrels I mean benchrest grade match not what many call AR15 match grade. Button rifled barrels may not be as good as the best cut rifled barrels but for accuracy I would put them up against any CHF barrel.
For a combat barrel a CHF or chromelined barrel would make sense. I wouldn't choose either for accuracy.
