They were hit or miss, but are now serviced by DDI, who will fix if necessary.

If you are interested in buying one, it's best to do it in person and hand cycle at least 10 rounds.
Some of them had out of specks headspace and cycling ammo will show the problem real quick.

older receivers are made by NDS, so they were good to go...the ones later were made in-house by Waffen Werks and had feeding issues etc

The 74 in general has more feed ramp issues...

I will never buy another AK without a hand full of snap caps/ dummy rounds on hand to verify they feed and chamber.... the warranty work is a PITA

If you don't already have an AK (or 10)

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
            (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Negative on this one, they are all now out of warranty from what DDI says and there is no service on them anymore. I would stay far away

Negative on this one too.. They don't have feed ramp issues. People who convert 5.45 saigas use the wrong part and have issues.

What is the going rate for a Waffen Werks AK-74 in So. Cal these days?

                  Does anyone sell 10 / 30 AK-74 Mags?

WW was taken over by DDI and are known to have issues. IIRC there's one in the MP but seller is asking too much for components its made from (US barrel)
