    .308 ammo

I'm looking for some .308 match grade ammo that is not going to bankrupt me. I've tried a few online sources (widiners/ammoman) Any suggestions?

Start reloading! Match grade ammo is going to cost over $1 per round if you buy it.

Cheap match grade factory ammo........ oxymoron

      What's your price range?
How accurate does it need to be?
How far do you intend to shoot accurately?

Wideners is great, but they sell out of the good stuff quick. You have to check their site frequently. Rather than wait, I handload my own with components bought from Wideners--Remington brass, Sierra Matchking 168gr HPBT, CCI primers, and IMR 3031 powder.

My reloading would cost average about $.45 per round and it shoots average 1/2 inch group with my tactical rifle.

              Prvi Partizan 168gr. Match

Not as cheap or as accurate as good handloads, but excellent ammo for the money. My AR-10 would group about 1 to 1.5 moa with these, the same with Federal GMM and Black Hills.

Widener's Reloading and Shooting Supply has ammo and reloading supplies for sale at cheap prices. Find out why we're the best deal on the web today!

Reloading at ~.34/rd not including brass, using standard 147gr .308. Several cents more per round for fancier projectiles.
Still much cheaper than buying new factory ammo.

cheap match ammo mmmmmm, the Bell helmet company in the late 70, had an ad that read "IF YOU HAVE A FIVE DOLLAR HEAD, BUY A FIVE DOLLAR HELMET"

Hey, how do you like the 147gr, and what brand and model no. do you use? I am considering stepping down from what I use now, especially if accuracy doesn't suffer too much.

winchester, usually. But I've used just about any 147-150gr FMJ projectile. Not a benchrest shooter though.
