Looking for long range scope for AR 15

I have been playing around with cheap scopes and those blur out at high magnification. I want to get a good one that can maintain clarity at high magnification.

Purpose of scope: Long range vermint hunting
    Max magnification desired: 18x-25x
Waterproof or at least water resistant
    No Made in China
    Caliber: 223 Rem/5.56 Nato
    Rugged/High durability
    Budget: $2000

    Your recommendations are greatly appreciated!

      Way under your budget:

I think many would argue that you won't need that high of magnification.

But then again, we don't know what caliber your shooting, or what range your reaching for.

      Good luck

You cannot go wrong with nightforce.

For light recoil rounds... The Nikon monarch is a good choice- super clear glass and a reasonable price.... They are more of a bench glass and not as rugged as the $1,000-$5,000 optics.

I also recommend Vortex and SWFA. I've owned and used both and they're excellent value for money. The Bushnell Elite Tactical also has very good reviews if you want to look into that but have never used it.

You probably won't need this for 5.56 but here is what you asked for.

                Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50. ~$1800-$2000.

Originally developed for the U.S. military's extreme long range shooting and hard target interdiction.

Btw, regardless of glass, you will lose some clarity/brightness at the maximum magnifications.

Almost forgot, the Nightforce SHV (Shooter/Hunter/Varminter) 5-20x56would be a nice option at ~$1300

Nightforce ATACR. Much better glass than the NXS, and there are plenty around at the $2000 mark from guys who are upgrading.

True that. I was just mentioning approximate retail prices.

if i had $2000 to spend on an optic it would be a Nightforce.
