As I said in another thread, imagine getting arrested for arson because you painted flames on your car.

Yeah... the cans are legal. It's pretend.

sorry to resurrect an old thread..
I understand that it's legal, but does anyone know if the fake can actually has any kind of affect on the sound or flash of the muzzle? not implying that its *meant* to, just wondering..

Wow, necro post. Fake cans make guns toys. Does that sum up what you want to know?

Basically, it almost makes the firearm sound louder and more annoying. It does nothing at all but throw off the blanace of the rifle by making it front heavy. You may as well duct tape a D Cell Maglite to your barrel, at least it would add function to the set up. Fake cans are for people that only like taking pics of their rifles for Calguns approval. Take it for what its worth...

it depends on the design. There is actually a company that sells fake cans that are also comps that push blast and sound forward (similar to a firepig).

the bullet is still passing through a slightly expanded chamber when compared to the bore.. I would imagine the gases are given a chance to expand a bit, as well as the sound maybe being a lower tone, although still loud? I havent seen one in person.

Also, yes... I know they're pointless.. that isnt my question
