I have alot of USA 30/40 round mags for AR's.

Since I can't legally buy anymore here in Kalifornia, does anyone offer a service to "upgrade" these and other high cap magazines so that they are strong and function reliableably.

Okay to shoot for fun, but wouldn't stake my life on them if you know what I mean.

I know that there was a huge run in 1999 of high cap mags being sold to California residents prior to passage of AB23.

I was calling wholesalers across the country and they were telling me they were sold out, apparently alot of people in California were buying up the magazines.

If you can find shops that will sell rebuild kits, you may legally rebuild all of those AR magazines that you had in your possession prior to 1/1/2000 yourself. No "upgrade" service is needed. The only problem is waiting for the back ordered AR magazines to become in stock. You may also want to try to ordering from places like 44mag.com that ship rebuild kits into California.

I have quite a few USA brand pre-ban AR magazines (I have them for the Mini-14 also). All they need is a follower and spring upgrade and their GTG. Of course you can rebuild the entire thing a piece at a time if you don't like the bodies. Some of the mags however fit very tight in the mag well. I completely rebuilt those into PMags.
