Latest Project, Bakelite furniture on stamp receiver

    [IMG][/IMG]

Lots of play on the lower hand-guard. Yes, Im aware its a milled receiver set. Done lots of searching from various forums. All talked about building it up with JB WELD. Anybody aware of alternatives to JB-weld?

A friend used a little bit of bondo on a Bulgarian plum stock that had a bit of wiggle to it, put the stock on while wet, no more wiggle.

Not bad eh. 350$ for the saiga, 65$ for the bakelite set (tons of hand buffing) and 39$ for the fixed triangle.

Did the bondo glued the hand-guard to the receiver?

No it was on his buttstock, this was several years ago, he had to use a wood dowl and rubber malet to get it back off, he lightly sanded it and cleaned it up, actually looked good.
But as I think about it, I wonder how the bondo would fair with the heat after firing.
