Some do stick out but not enough. For my saiga it was ~26.5 so I needed 4 inches for the folder. Which means on a mount it would need to be ~5 inches to accommodate the area for the pg and oal. It's kind of a **** show either way but I like the amd brake. Follow up shots seems to be quicker with the brake. Just depends what you want.

My amd measured 27.25 without a tapco brake and sling mount.

I heard back from echo9-6, the AMD adapter measures .880 past the receiver, mine is 1.127. So much for buying a nice looking one!

Alright, I finally got the photos uploaded. First two are of the rifle. Converted saiga 5.45x39 with all zhukov furniture and AMD 65 brake from AKBuilder.

This is the orginal screw that comes with it. This must be replaced to fix the stock in the open position.

This is the hole that need to be drilled through the rear trunnion (only as a guide). I marked mine then drilled outside of the trunnion. I didn't go very deep. The "bottom" plastic you see in the hole is actually the button. Sorry quality isn't the best on this one.

This is the longer screw i used from Ace Hardware.
