    For those outside of CA

I got an email from Surefire about the sale of their 100 round magazines. Here's the link if you are outside of CA, hope someone takes advantage! I just ordered one for my buddy in OR as a secondary wedding present, I hope his wife doesn't open it!

Too many reports of being finicky.

I've been meaning to try out one of Magpuls new drum mags however.

Even with an M16, 30s do just fine.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

I disagree. I only run 40 round pmags in my full auto AR's including my M16. 30 goes way too fast even on short bursts.

.22 mags are even worse. 50 round drums are minimum for a full auto AR.

I've heard that about these mags as well. They are also a little complicated to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning I hear.

How long does it take to load the mag?

This works with stripper clips, so quicker than you would think. I used the 60 rounders when I was visiting a friend in AZ, and used a uplula thingy which made it pretty fast also.

I used an uplula to load my 60 round surefire. The ammo got all out of whack when firing when I used it and stopped feeding after about 15 rounds. I tossed the mag into my truck and just used my pmags.

The mag is still loaded with the remaining ammo all loose inside it sitting in a bin after 2 years. One of the perks of having a full auto is it really shows what will work or not in real conditions. A lot of AR parts run fine in 99% of semi auto guns but once you try it on a full auto the weaknesses are found.
