    OLL Build Question

Hello. I've been reading how-two's and watching videos on how to assembly the lower parts kit. I haven't done anything yet as I'm still waiting on my receiver.

On the trigger pin/hammer pin I notice the pins are not symmetrical. Does it matter which way you drive them in? I noticed one side has a second notch? Also does it matter which side I drive them in from?

The pins are designed that way so that they can be used in either the trigger or the hammer and still function the way they are supposed to.

Only one groove is used on each pin.

The middle groove is used by the pin that drives through the hammer. The J-hook in the hammer rides in that groove to hold the hammer in place.

The outside groove is used by the pin that drives through the trigger. One of the hammer spring legs rides in that groove to hold the trigger pin in place.

Since the middle groove will always be in the middle, it doesn't matter what way that pin goes through the hammer. And since there are two hammer spring legs and one will always be riding in the outside groove, it doesn't matter which way the trigger pin goes in.
