I picked up these 2 boxes more than a year ago but Ive been afraid to fire it. Is this ammo corrosive? Steel Core? How old is this ammo?

No but it might be steel core. As for corrosive ammo, just clean correctly after use and there won't be any issues.

I always thought all Chinese x39 is corrosive, but some of it is in fact not.

As far as whether you can trust what is printed on the box, that's a different story.

I'd shoot it and see. Commie guns don't fail due to rust very easily.

Those are highly toxic ammo that will destroy your gun and pollute our beautiful state of California. You must ship them to me for proper disposal immediately!

Why are you afraid to fire it? Consider it good stuff. I try and shoot my crappier ammo first. Put that away but don't be afraid to shoot it

Thank you all for the responses. Im gonna keep it more as a relic. If anyone is interested in obtaining a box or 2. Go to Fowlers in Orange. My only concern with this ammo is the age...will it blow up gun!?

I have not seen that particular brand before, but I still have thousands of rounds of Norinco that I bought in the 80's. I ran tons of Norinco "Non-Corrosive" through my pre-ban AK's and SKS's in the 80's and never had any issues. I never cleaned any of them either, so not all Chinese ammo is corrosive.

                    What factory ?
David Kange was the main man for Norinco and would sell at .05 a round.
