AR-10 lower receiver recommendation.....

I would like to purchase 2x AR-10 type lower receivers.

My understanding is that there are only '3' manufacturers of these lower receivers. I understand also that not all of them accept the same magazine as well.

Can someone give me some direction as to which lower I should be looking at? I would like a lower that will allow me to select from various upper receiver options. Also availability of magazines and (internal) parts for such a lower would be a consideration as well.

I'm currently looking at the Aeroprecision SPR-2.

If I recall correctly...

DPMS/Fulton "AR-308": Only takes DPMS/FA AR-308 uppers and freefloat tubes; supposedly can be made to fit KAC's SR-25 URX's and freefloat tubes. Can only take DPMS (maybe SR-25 also) magazines.

RRA "LAR-8": Only takes LAR-8 uppers, and RRA does not recommend modding any part of the rifle. Can only take FAL magazines.

Armalite/N6/Aero "AR-10": Only takes AR-10 uppers, as well as freefloat tubes designed specifically for AR-10's. Can only take modified M14 or AR-10 magazines.

Picking any one of the three prevents you from using most of the other 2 competitors' parts. I'd say pick a platform and stick with it. There's no platform that is more adaptive to the others.

POF lower

I have a POF .308 lower with Timney trigger and Pachmyr vindicator grip. The upper has a Kreiger match barrel in a DPMS upper. It was built by Harrison Beene at AR15 performance. It is a one ragged hole shooter at 100 yds.
