    Building first AR-10, want advice

As the title says, I'm not currently happy with my MP10 and I figured it would be fun to build my own. I have handled many guns, built none, so I'm not even sure where to start. Guess I will state what it is for...
Punching paper/steel, hopefully out to 1000-1500 yards.
Accuracy. Prefer something capable of moa or sub moa that I could work with.
I'm not too concerned with weight. This will be more of a bored/test my skill while out in the desert thing.
Recoil. I would prefer my shoulder not to be dislocated after firing. I know some of you will say it's part of the fun, but I work on computers all day. I am not built for that kind of abuse. So any sort of padding in the stock or whatever to help reduce recoil would be great.
I would like to keep this under 2k. If I can get what I want for cheaper, even better.

Not sure if serious. You want sub moa accuracy and build it yourself? That's pretty ambitious. I'm sure it can be done but it won't be easy. Good luck.

I don't see achieving a sub MOA AR10 gun all that difficult. Spend your money on a good barrel, decent bolt and an excellent trigger. Run a free float rail. For easier recoil a Battlecomp brake or other quality brake. Keeping under 2k will get problematic by the time you add glass.

Let me add that the kind of distance your taking about is getting outside of most 308 guns reach for accurate fire.

Yea I kind of figured. Was thinking of maybe just getting a LaRue. I have an Armalite AR30a1 with an ATACR so if it gets to be too much, I could just switch to that. As I said, it's mostly for casual when I'm out with the buddies in the desert, so it doesn't HAVE to do something, just as long as it can get closeish I would be happy. But yea, guess I'll just save for a LaRue.
