PTR91 A3S on the way now what to buy.

So I finally ordered a ptr91 a3s from Atlantic, which I've been debating on or doing a LR308 build and went with the PTR. I've narrowed it down to a Bill Springfield trigger job and have a optic in mind and picked up a bunch of 10/20 surplus mags but was looking for any suggestions or idea's of what I should add to the list as well. Cant wait to get some range time in and see how she shoots.

I have one and love it. Get a 3/4" riser, high rings, and a Cherokee high rise cheek piece. A Bill Springfield trigger job will give you 4 pound pull. I LOVE MINE.

        Ammo.

So you can put it through its paces first to figure out what it needs or doesn't need, or what you like or don't like, before splurging on superfluous accessories from Mattel.

Thanks again for the suggestions and ammo is already on the way. I picked up some federal xm80 with some federal gold match and have some ADI on hand. Wasnt looking to tactical this rifle out, I just know optics are going on it and trigger work because the trigger from what I've read really needs work but thanks for the responses.

Go buy some range time before you start throwing time and money at a new rifle. Just thinking out loud.

A set of feeler gauges so you can check and keep an eye on your bolt gap as the rifle settles in.

You'll definitely want the trigger job. I have a bill Springfield trigger on mine and it is a completely different (better) trigger than stock. I also switched to a metal G3 trigger housing.

But be careful. I've heard some negative reviews of Bill Springfield trigger jobs as of late. Not sure what happened but there is some negative feedback. My trigger feels amazing and I love it.

                      Enjoy your rifle. It's beautiful.

PSG-1 two stage buffer is well worth the effort. There are two made in the USA copies worth looking at to save a few bucks.

                        Again good luck

I agree on shooting it before dressing it up. Great for taking pictures, but takes away from money you could spend breaking the gun in and seeing what it really needs to be "your rifle."

Thanks again for the replys and trust me it will see a lot of range time so I can figure out what I like/need but mainly wanted to get other peoples thoughts on what they thought helped improve their shooting and what did or didn't work..
