    what to build

I am debating on whether to build an ar10 or ar15? I am going with a dpms upper half, fluted barrel, 24". If I go 223 it will be a spikes tactical lower but if I go 308 it will be pof USA please advise me on hat to do. I already have a socom ii, ar15 with the 16", and a tikka t3 tactical in 223. Thanks for your help. I am planning to order tomorrow so if u can help asap, I appeciate it.

    308 is pricey, go 223.

I just got a 24" DPMS upper for my LMT lower. I can't tell you what it's like yet because the lower is still undergoing the 10 day wait... I can pick it up Tuesday, though...

I'd say to go with a .223 AR, not an AR-10.

I'd say go with the 308 if you are set on a 24" barrel. I would assume that with that length of barrel, the rifle is intended for long range shooting? The 308 is definitely the better choice between the two for long range performance. Once you start shooting past about 600 yards, the advantage of the 308 is very clear. For a 223 designed for long range applications, a 20" barrel should be sufficient. Beyond 20" length you don't see much of an increase in muzzle velocity.
