There is no such thing as an "A2 short stock". You're probably thinking of the Entry Stock, which is based on the A1 design. It's not milspec, because the military doesn't use them.

The one in this picture is a RRA Entry stock/Shorty:

I think he means milspec vs. commercial as in the diameter of the buffer tube for collapsible stocks. But I don't think regular A2 tubes come in any different flavors besides "milspec?" I could be wrong. Plus, I'm sure the entry (short) stocks have a proprietary buffer tube anyways.

An A2 stock is an A2 stock. An A1 stock is an A1 stock. An entry stock is an entry stock.

The A2 and A1 stocks use the same milspec buffer tube. The entry stock uses its own buffer tube.

If he's talking about collapsible stocks, then he shouldn't be talking about A2

Yea, you're right. I just assumed that's where he got the terminology for "milspec" and "commercial" (from collapsible stocks), and he figured full stocks also had the same differentiation. I should have been more clear about what I meant in the previous post.

That's the way to go, if you can justify the #. Those suckers are tough as heck.

Otherwise, all the entry stocks are essentially the same. Just pick one that's cheap.
