If you can melt the trunion using 10 round mags and mag locks, I will make you the "Honorary CA Miculek" trophy.

I think the whole deal with melty trunions is mostly BS. It's an assault RIFLE, not a support MG.
Some have asked it to serve as one in a pinch- this it does not like. The AR would work better when abused to an extreme.

^ supply the gun, mags and Ammo and I will gladly accept your challenge.

Miculek I am not, but I can bump fire like a mofo.

With 10 round mags and a BB, the barrel will barely be warm. You'll spend more time loading than shooting.

I remember REAL bumpfire from the 90s I can still bump some of my ARs from the shoulder. Kind of lost the appeal after my uncle bought full auto guns in NC (open invitation for me to go and shoot them )

Sounds like you have spent too much time at public shooting ranges doing very very slow fire.

That ISH will still get stupid hot. Even with the extra split second to deal with a mag lock.

They said that it was going to happen, early last year:

The H&K booth at SHOT was busy as could be, and they had their entire product line on display including the Grenade Machine Gun.I was lucky enough to talk with Wayne Weber, the H&K USA President for a while but HK PRO Member Anthony.L sat in on a morning interview with Mr.Weber and recorded the whole thing.

Since that interview, the P30SK and the new striker fired handgun have both been released...

                      So, fingers crossed.

A lot has happened since that interview. Most notably, the German military not securing anymore G36. That's got to be a big hit to HK's books.

That's based on the fact that they are piggy backing of domestic mil proeuction . An American commercial model will not enjoy such a benefit.

The SL8 was a $1,400 gun with a retail of $1,800 so I think it's feasible. Although, it's a moot point if HK doesn't start up the tooling.

...all the more incentive to sell guns on the US civilian market to make up the revenue, I reckon.

Current exchange rate is 1 Euro for $1.12 USD or $1 USD for 0.89 Euro.

Sale price of 1539 Euro would be $1720.36 USD.
Non-sale price of 1730 Euro would be $1933.86 USD.
