Not much of a confirmation for the statement "don't do it"... With all due respect, things like "I heard" and "bound to be worse" aren't worth considering...

FMK lowers were known to fail (so I agree with staying away from them)... NFA (which I also have) and TN Arms poly lowers don't have the failure reputation they you may have "heard" about...

Of the 7 ARs I have, two are poly (one NFA, one TN Arms) the poly function the same as the others.

Having that been said - other than weight or cost, there's no specific reason to use poly over aluminum.

Failure stories are not hard to find.

Remember when I said quality parts from known suppliers...plastic lower was not on that list...your rifle, your money, your choice but I wouldn't bother with plastic on an AR where aluminum should be...even more so on a 308 AR.

I'm going to do the Aero M5 dpms pattern.

I thought about the cheaper PSA or PTAC but the takedown pins on those are custom, and something about their bolt release also being special between their uppers and lowers.

That's what I did. Just picked up these 2 last month. I've wanted a MWS for a long time and picked the 16s to go along with its bigger brother.

Ultimately I chose this one and just ordered it with a jig for completion.
