    Ejection problem on AK

I took out my AK baby to the range today. First I'd like to state that anyone who is paranoid about cops saying anything is retarded. We talked to two cops, both wanted to just look at and fire the gun.

We noticed that we started having a casing ejection problem.

The gun wasn't fully ejecting all the casings. Every couple shots, for the most part, would eject and fire fine, then one casing would jam on ejection.

Has anyone had this problem? What could possibly cause it?

It's an NDS-3 Receiver with a Romanian Parts kit.
    Ammo was Wolf Soft Point

    Thanks

Is the bolt carrier going back all the way? Do you have a buffer installed? Need more info.

    I will vote for a donkey-sex maniac if he's pro-gun.

For not even knowing what the buffer is, I'm going to say no.

On the bolt carrier: I believe so, but we think it's rubbing on the hammer.

Here is the buffer I am talking about. I've heard some people have had problems with it installed and removing it fixed the jamming problem.

Ok. Try this. When you pull back the bolt carrier it shouldn't be too difficult. If it is than its a problem with the rails...or you probably bent the receiver when building, but that can be fixed. If you pull it back fast and let go it should close. If it doesn't than its most likely the rails (in other words you need to trim off more!) if it does than its probably either the ammo or the magazine. I've also heard something about the tapco hammer hanging it up...but I can't really say for sure that it is. Mine works perfectly.

Check the distance between the tip of the ejector and the outside of the receiver. It should be .560". Any less and it could be to short and miss the rim of the cartridge.

Did you clean the extractor/spring out real good?

AK's don't like anything but FMJ ammo as a general rule (some run on SP/HP some dont) try running it again with some FMJ...

Check the ejector distance/edge, make sure its long enough and that its not peening itself at the end.

            Good luck.

I dunno much about AKs, but I was there trying to help. They did clean the extractor out fairly well. All of the fired casings did have a nice notch/scratch on them from the extractor. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be so (but it was Wolf steel cased ammo, not brass).

If its a romie "G" kit it probably has a good extractor spring as the guns weren't fired, just carried (As I understand anyway)

Just in case, you might wanna swap the spring for a new one, and completely remove the extractor and clean real well (altho its an AK it shouldn't matter)

I would be looking hard at the ejector and the specs on the receiver, make sure nothing is out of alignment or wrong dimension...
