    Seling a 1927a1 Thompson carbine

How can I legally sell my 1927a1 Auto Ordnance Thompson .45 acp de luxe carbine in California? It is in excellent condition, all original, no modifications. It comes with 1-20 rd and 1-30 rd stick and a 50 rd drum.

Can I also sell out of state?

    Thanks.

It has to have some sort of maglock device unless it is a RAW, which would be difficult to transfer. The magazines could not be sold unless to a LEO or FFL with a hi cap permit. You could sell it out of state as well.

How much are you asking for it?

          Short answer is...
Remove the pistol grip from rifle.
Block all mags to 10 round capacity.
          Good luck.

Very hard to block a drum, will probably have to sell that one out of state

Assuming you're implying it is already legally in CA, there is one of three possible scenarios:
              1) It is a RAW. Though technically possible to deregister it, your only real practical option is to sell it out of state. Remember to notify the DOJ that you sold it.
              2) It is not a RAW and has a bullet button installed. Sell it like any other CA legal long gun.
              3) It is not a RAW and is featureless. Sell it like any other CA legal long gun.

Note that if it not a RAW and it doesn't have a bullet button installed or is featureless, and it is in CA, you are now in the middle of committing a CA felony.

As for the magazines, again assuming you are implying they are already legally in CA, that is you had them in your personal possession in CA prior to 01/01/00, you can either block them to 10rnds or less and sell them within CA or sell them as is out of state to a resident of a local where large capacity magazines can be legally purchased. You cannot sell them as is or disassembled within CA to non-exempt persons.

This is the Bullet Button I have on my Thompson.

Block or rivet the stick magazines and sell it with the pistol grips removed. The buyer will be responsible to configure it to comply with CA. The Thompson crowd is going to be niche. Anybody that is looking to buy one will know how to make it legal.

There is a company that sells mag blocks for the stick mags. You rivet them in.
