Searched and searched found only vague clues so here goes:
1. I bent my akbuilder hungarian amms flat and the predrilled rear trunnion rivet holes do not line up obviously I can take a Dremel to it but I'm wondering if that's kosher structurally? The holes are very mildly off center and wouldn't require much modification. The rivet head would cover the egging.
This brings me to my next situation. Drilling the front trunnion holes resulted in two of them being off center. Once again very mildly but my same question applies.
2. Are the akbuilder( or equivalent if they exist) spot welder tongs necessary to spot weld the rails in place? If so is the extended upper tip required? I assume this is why people bend the tong down?
3. While looking at various threads it seems that people typically only heat treat fcg holes. Is this all that is necessary being that other parts of the receiver experience stress like the upper rails undergo lots of friction or the selector hole/ dimple being frequently exposed to movement for a few examples?
