PTR/ HK 91 thread

So I recently added to my small and pathetic collection by buying a PTR 91 FR. my local Turners in Oxnard was able to do a direct order from PTR and the sales man, Josh, was an awesome dude to work with. Some of the other salesmen are somewhat rude but him, AL, and Eric have so far been really great on answering questions.

Anyone else have a PTR or HK? Any recommendations on accessories?

Would love to see everyones to better get an idea of what I want to do with the rifle so far a club foot stock was the only addition I was going to make

Factory HK SR9T, but I swapped out the MSG90 stock for a PSG1. Factory port buffer, if you want to find your brass, HK wide fore end, light bipod, and scope mount.

You could piece together exactly the same thing, or mix and match.

It's very accurate.

that is indeed a VERY nice looking rifle! I plan on having mine set up as a DMR/ SHTF type of rifle. But the way yours is set up has me thinking I could really reach out and touch something if I wanted/needed to. How many long is your barrel if you don't mind my asking

This was imported during the sporting rifles ok/ non sporting bad phase. Thumb holes stocks on most sr9s, but somehow HK convinced the powers that regulate such things that the target nature of the SR9T AND TC variants should be exempted from the thumb hole stock nonsense.

They left muzzle devices off all of them, as far as I know.

^^^ Very nice HK CG. My LGS in AZ has an HK91 for 3k. I wish I would have bought one before the ban.

OP: I have a PTR91SC that I have been running completely stock with the factory HK style diopter sight. I thought I would want an optic (especially with the factory welded rail) but so far it's been a fun rifle the way it came from the factory.

Have you had any issues with ammo? Surplus or steel cased? I know the newer rifles are 100% reliable but I heard originally they had a different flute count and depth that made a bit unreliable with some ammo

I have the GI model and have been pretty happy with it. So far mine has worked with every type of ammo I have fed it.

To my great shame, I haven't taken it to the range yet. The F variant has a heavy barrel and is supposed to have a tighter chamber for higher quality ammunition.

F model and I went with a green wide forgrip, metal S/F lower with green grip and stock. Swapped out some internals to keep it 922r happy.
