Here's the bolt lock cover plate. It's not extremely bent, but bent enough that I think I'm going to damage the lip if I hit it any harder with a punch.



Here's the FTE I was experiencing, for what it's worth. The empty cartridge casing was failing to eject and the bolt was slamming it back into the area above the chamber.

Is it not necessary to ever remove it for routine cleaning/maintenance? If not, I'll just leave it alone.

Cover plate cooks correct to me. It is supposed to fit friction tight so as to not fall out/off.

Looks like the cover plate is okay. Just use a thin bladed screwdriver to pry it up a little when you have to remove it.

This will be when the bolt locks itself back and the bolt stop plunger sticks in place.

Take the bolt apart and make sure all of the bits and pieces are in good shape.

Lube is your friend when putting a Mini back together. Grease anything that slides and oil everything else.

I was having the same exact failure. I sent it to Ruger to fix, but I didn't notice anything strange about the plate.

I've yet to receive it back, it's only been a couple weeks.
