    quick help on transfer

so im trading my bolt long gun to someone out of state to their ffl and they are gonna send me a pistol in trade to my ffl .. straight trade . so is their anything i have to sign stating i no longer own the gun? what would the process be in trading straight across with this person in another state? just use my ffl to send it to his ffl and then when my ffl gets the pistol i just do the dros and everything is happy?

Don't be fooled as I was, this is the worst zombie movie ever!

Long guns are not registered. You can ship to the guy's FFL.

You can only get pistols that are on the safe list from out of state.

That depends on if the handgun he wants to send you is on the California roster of "safe" handguns or if it is exempt from the roster. If not, then you probably won't be able to get the handgun.

Just make sure that you FFL is willing to transfer it (the pistol) and it shouldn't be a problem.

Make sure it meets all of the requirements for the single shot exemption to the Roster.

Make sure your local Dealer will accept that kind of firearm.

Make sure your local Dealer will accept a firearm shipped by a non-FFL.
