Best place to shoot outdoors

Hey fellow calgunners,

Can anyone recommend an outdoor shooting range where I can shoot green tip ammo. I live here out in Van Nuys and a few friends and I want to go shooting today. I remember as a kid my dads friend would take use shooting in the mountains and we would take junk with us and shoot at it. Any recommendation and yes we do clean up after ourselfs.

Also I know this is not the right place to post but when you have over 280 viewers in here you'll normall get the fastest answer.

Angeles National Forrest, barstow. You're not gonna be able to shoot green tip at any range because you'll ruin all their steel.

I'm not 100% sure about this one, last time i was out there they were magnet testing my buddies .308 and giving him the riot act about it. All the while I was shooting wolf out of my AK without getting a second look?

I do know first hand the range masters will **** with you if they don't like you. I have shot thousands of steel rounds in my .308 there and even had the range master do a few mags of it, be even replaced the ammo he shot. Not sure what to say.

no target shooting in anf unless at a range, barstow, rosamond. jawbone canyon and check if blm allows magnetic ammo.

Most people come up here and shoot near Hodge exit.West side of the I-15.East side is shotgun hunting only/also off highway vehicle area.
Halfway between Victorville and Barstow.Pretty much north of that area is open.Stay away from houses and of course towns.
Please pick up your shot up junk when you leave.Thank you.

Last time I was there, I was also tested with a magnet. Twice. Never going back to Lytle Creek. Bunch of uptight people who wouldn't let me shoot at my paper target 15 yds. away with a handgun for "safety reasons".
