I was firing my AES-10B earlier today, and when I field stripped the gun to clean it, I noticed that the rear of the bolt carrier is starting to "mushroom." None of my other AK's have this issue, and some of them have been fired far more than my AES-10B. I am assuming this is coming from the...
This happens on all sorts of rifles, both new factory guns and builds on surplus kits. This also has been happening for years on various gun boards.
The hammer profile seems to be the issue. Same reason RSA makes SAR3 specific hammer and Saiga 223 guns need to use the stock hammer.

If the gun is not over-gassed it will not cause such excessive wear OR if the BC steel is hard enough it won't deform all that much especially as to cause a sticking bolt problem in OP's video. Hammer is not an issue here at all.Comment
