Have questions on AK's for you AK experts.

Just got off the phone with my dad that lives in FL. I have been telling him that there is a slight possibility that new Federal AW bans might be coming in the near future. He wanted an AR about a year ago and I bought him a Colt AR-15 and gave it to him for his B-day. Now today he was telling me that he wants a "Cuerno de Chivo", that is what they call the AK's in Spanish.

Now here is where I need the help. I don't know crap when it comes to AK's and I would like to buy him a nice one in FL (actually, one for me and one for him). What is a good top of the line AK that I can legally buy in FL. (I am a FL resident and I can legally buy guns in FL and no the AK is not coming to CA).

cant really answer that question without knowing your budget, if you want the cream of the crop get an sam series milled arsenal, or the poly tech rifles and the early arsenal USA guns(good luck finding one of those) or one of the new slr 106/107 rifles, any overland/red jacket/ted marshall/ak usa build will also be very good as well.

my budget that I have is $3500 since I had the money set aside to get a Nighthawk .45 and a Benelli M-4 for me, but I would much rather buy my dad that AK and maybe get me one with the left over funds.

ETA: Looking at the Arsenal website, I did not see any with wood stocks. My dad likes the AR but said he wished it had a wood stock so this AK must have a wood stock.

Well then. You must get one for your dad, and one off list milled Arsenal AK for yourself.

I would say go with the arsenal sam series rifles, I really dont like the chinese guns, check gun broker/and the non ca forums for the arsenals, if you really want something great look into the 106/7 cr rifles, and look into sbr'ing one in florida they are truly the sexiest ak's out there when the are sbr'ed

In that case get an aks74u (it is and sbr so you will have to do form1/4 atf **** w/e that is) , it has wood handgaurds

Get him a Norinco Poly Tech (they are well made), then you can tell him aqui esta tu jugetito de china apa! ahahaha good stuff man. To complete his excitement as if the AK wont be enough no se te olvide los cuernos de disco! (Drum)

Mario, the SAM series has milled receivers with wood.

If you're going out of state, pick something up with a side-folding stock for yourself.

$3500 is plenty of room for two milled AKs.
