Oh and not to mention usually involves spot welding or some sort of way of joining the inner guide rail things to the Reciever. I guess once you tool up it could be a hobby. But ya even an ak is a LOT of work. Even books written on it lol.
I wasn't talking about the just the tooling. I was literally talking about the parts. Indianapolis Ordinance sells the parts needed to make a legal semi-auto out of the STEN kits for around that price. You could just go get a piece of the correct-sized pipe, and print up a template to cut a standard receiver that uses the original parts. But that is a good way to go to jail for a long, long time. For an AK kit, you just need a flat and the new fire control group. Not the receiver tube, a new bolt, a new front trunion, , and whatever else the STEN needs to make a legal semi-auto.

There are several laws that need to be adhered to, so you don't land yourself in the pokey. Do your homework first

After you do your homework, you will quickly see how that $200 Sten will cost you $500 to build
Semi auto sten is about 700$! Cool to have and say you built it but a 9mm ar won't be much more. Mac 9 with a 16 barrel and stock would be about 500. Mac 9 pistol 350. Ar can be done for under 500 if you wait for sales. Like tactical machine $29 lower and a used lower here
