    Problems with feeding (308) 7.62x51

    Here's the deats:

    Ammo: American Eagle 150gr FMJ
Upper: DPMS Recon 7.62x51, 16" barrel, midlength gas system. Feed ramps are NOT polished.
    Lower: Juggernaut
    Buffer: slash's CAR-10 5.5oz w/ slash's 308 carbine spring
    Mag: Magpul 10/20

Round gets stripped from mag, slips off bolt lugs, and gets smashed between bolt and chamber. I added the heavy buffer to slow down the bcg which helps but I still get the same malfunction about 15% of the time. I don't recall having this issue with the standard 10rnd PMAGs. Is this a common issue with the 10/20s? Much obliged for any pointers.

OP - I have the same exact issue when I use my 10/20 magpul magazine. I never use that POS anymore. My observation is that the 20 rounds mags have weaker springs when blocked. The spring doesn't push the round fast enough and the bolt rides forward before it can fully catch the round. I hope that make sense.

Anyway, I have no problems with 10 rounders or 10/30 so I'd stick with those. Just my .02 man. Good luck.

Hey WT how are your mags blocked? If they have rivets through the side, that would explain some issues.

Thanks guys. The 10/20 mags are riveted, but when I pull the floor plate the spring slides out clean (doesn't hang up on the rivet). Oh well I will stick to the 10rnders and see if that does the job.

If its new it might need to be broke in. Drop the mag and manually cycle the action (pull the charging handle)100 times. You dont have to pull the handle all the way back, just till the bolt unlocks.
