It was just challenging you to come back out again

There are NCPPRC tactical bolt rifle practice days from 200-1000 yards every first Sat of the month, then a match the next day, Sunday. Your rig is perfect for that type of shooting.

Then, the Folsom Shooting Club has matches Sat & Sun of the 2nd weekend of the month. You would be shooting in F T/R division with your rifle

If you thought the atmosphere was good at the clinic, that is exactly what you'll see at the matches and practice days. More than enough guys willing to help and answer questions. Too many people are intimidated by going to a match. I will guarantee anyone that goes to one and shoots will quickly learn it is anything but that.

There's nothing like watching other shooters and learning how they do it and there is NO substitute for trigger time when it comes to LR and wind reading.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone that helped organize this event and those that volunteered! Those that were there helping on the line were a wealth of information and it was equally great talking to the volunteers in the pits. A great time, great lunch, safe and professional... what more could you ask for!

Those that did not attend, you missed a great time!

      Once again, thank you!

What an amazing day. A BIG thanks to all of the volunteers, coaches and organizers. I've never gone out past a 500-yd dinger before this and just seeing the 1000-yd berm from the firing line was plenty intimidating. But I was on paper after only a few shots in the first session.

Just reaching 1000 yds and not looking like an idiot while trying was the first goal met. The wind started up in the later sessions and that was another eye-opener... watching the different reads from the different flags all along the course, plus what the mirage was telling me... That was one hell of a fun challenge.

Those F-class rings in the last session were a nice little surprise. I didn't realize the rings had shrunk until I pulled my target in the pits.

If only the wind today (Tuesday) had been there on Sunday. It was blowing a gusty 15-20+- mph and coming from 1-2:00 o'clock all morning. Ten of us started at 300 yards, with a couple of .223's and the rest with .308's. We were down to 7 shooters at 800 yards, and I was the only one to shoot from the 1,000 yard line. It is fun shooting in a bit of wind, but the wind buffeting the gun makes it difficult to break great shots. It can also create some bad habits. At 800 we were using 6-7 1/2 minutes (2+mils), and at 1,000 it took 9-11 minutes (3+ mils). Much better than working though...
