They did have a calibre field on the form, but you are not restricted to using uppers of only the calibres listed calibre.If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

The caliber information is just supplemental information.
Many folks "just in case" in 2000 registered their ARs as multicaliber, resulting in a registration showing "8888" as the caliber.
Your reg'd assault weapon is unquely identified by make, model and serial #.
There is no statutory or regulatory law restricting changing caliber on a registered assault weapon or adding, changing or removing characteristic features on one (as long as the resultant gun doesn't violate other laws such as full auto, short barreled rifle or destructive device, etc.)

I purposely left the caliber and barrel length field blank on my registration application. When the registration letter came back the caliber was listed as 0000 and barrel length was not even listed.Comment

You may have a problem if you put a 50bmg on an OLL AR lower.
To do so would be constructing an unregistered 50 bmg rifle. Unless your AR was a registered AW, then it's okay.I'm Rick James...Be-otch!!!!
