Upper Selection Time - AR15 - Noveske vs LMT

Well, I picked up my lower on Friday and installed my Armalite 2 stage LPK. So far so good. Once the UBR's come in again in 4 weeks (I called Magpul), I'll most likely go with them.

I'm thinking that the Sabre Defence M4 Tactical is the way to go for my upper (click link and scroll down...)

the other one I was considering was the Noveske N4 Low Profile Recce Upper

What do you guys think? Would you offer a different suggestion?

    Hands down, get the RECCE.

    Better barrel, better gas system...

If you're looking at that price range, you might also consider LMT's MRP CQB

LanWorld Inc has decent prices. I've seen them posted for less from our sponsors, as well.

I think after looking around, what I've envisioned qualifies as an SPR. Does an SPR have to be 18"? Is the RECCE accurate enough where the 16" wouldn't matter? Thanks again for all the help.

I bought the UBR and its en route.

You can build it any way you want. The nice thing about 18" is you can go to a rifle gas system - which is softer shooting and even easier on parts than the mid-length. You'll gain a bit off velocity, but you'll sacrifice some weight and handling.

Just be sure to go rifle gas with an 18" upper.

There's a good thread running right now about SPRs and SDM-R rifles.

Yeah because that will help with accuracy.

Chris (Addax) is a great guy and sells quality stuff. He could probably help you with the SPR, as could other Calguns sponsors. Even he wouldn't encourage a piston on a full length rifle.

which sponsors carry the LMT? I clicked through a few and failed the intelligence test - i could not find it.

I have a sabre defence 16" stainless steel fluted barrel with 1:8 and it kicks butt. I recommend Sabre for their quality, durability, finish and accuracy.

LMT's will be slightly heavier than the Noveske's. I'd get the Noveske N4 Lite Recce.

But they are both the best in the biz. I used to drool over the MRP's, but they are just a little heavier once you add all the fixings.

Flip a coin if you prefer.

Both of these choices are very nice ones.

If you are interested in obtaining a price quote on the Sabre, please contact us, we are a Sabre Premium Dealer.

We use are starting to use Sabre barrels on some of our Addax Gas Piston Uppers, and their Mil-spec chrome lined barrels are using Mil-Spec-B-1159F (Machine Gun Rated) Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel, which is the same Steel Sabre uses for the .50 caliber and 7.62 minigun barrels they also manufacture for the US Military, plus the M16's they now make for the US Military.

The Noveske's are an excellent choice too, and they use the M249 Machine gun steel for their barrels.

                  I hope this input helps.

                  Thanks,
                  Chris

We just got in some really nice WOA barrels, and we just received some 16" Sabre SPR fluted barrels.

Just drop us a line at sales@adxtactical.com and we will be happy to help you out.

                      Thanks,
