bedding savage axis in a boyds stock

Has anybody done this or is it possible? I should be recieving my Pro Varmint stock from boyds for my axis 223 and was hoping i could bed it to increase the accuracy. Any info would be appreciated!

I followed this video when I did my 700 in a Boyds. The Axis would be pretty much the same. Just different locations for the action bolts/pillars.

Just make sure your action screws aren't touching pillars. Once bedding is fully cured check the recoil lug for side and bottom clearance. Makes a world of difference.

On JTs comment: I use masking tape wrapped around the action screw to center the screw in the pillar.
Just enough on the screw to take up the space, none in the threads, use liberal amounts of release agent on the tape.
Once cleaned up the screw will contact only the lower head of the pillar and the action, not the inside if the pillar.

Three layers of tape on the front, sides and bottom of the recoil lug.

I made a pillar for the Boyds tacticool for my Sav 110.
Notice the relief cut for clearance with the trigger.

The pillar was pre compressed before bedding, as explained here:
