It depends on how it's used.

Some of my varmint rifles are used shooting from benches or rests and are unloaded until I'm ready to shoot. They have triggers set at 12 ounces up to 2 Lbs.
Most of the rest are between 3 and 4 Lbs as that's as light as I feel comfortable with when I'm walking around with a loaded rifle, even with the safety on.

Wow...I'm at 4.25 for my rifle and I thought that was low. Looks like I've got some more to go.

Around 3# for my walking rifles. Remember that creep, mushiness/crispness and overtravel are every bit or more important than simple pull weight.

Carry a light trigger and leave the gun un chambered been doing it for 40+ years of successful hunting. My two cent's.

Unless you are hunting dangerous game. Then, I have a round chambered. Though, I believe in 3 position safeties.

3.5-8lbs. It doesnt bother me. I try my hardest not to spoil myself with good gadgets vs keeping my fundamentals. I only have 2 guns with 3.5lbs and one was used just last yesr for hunting. Most are standard 7lbs or so. No complaint and no harvested deer ever said my shot was 2" off.
