    Tikka 3 Lite

How does it stack up against other light weight rifles?

    Probably in .260 or 6.5 X 55?

Better synthetic stocks than most, accurate, easy to carry, really smooth action, great trigger. Comes with rings, but the bolts for the rings are super soft and prone to breaking/cracking. Spend .20 cents on a pair of bolts and save the money you would have spent on aftermarket rings.

I have one in 6.5X55 in SS and one in 7mm-08 that is blued.
They are great rifles and my number one choice. Accurate/smooth action/easy to carry using an Edge sling/good trigger and less recoil if you use the Limbsaver Direct Replacement Recoil Pad.

Look no further and buy one. You will be happy.
      I
"I" have had no trouble with the factory rings and I have many, many rounds thru both of mine. I put a 3X9X40 Leupold Varri-X II with duplex reticle on both of mine. I also put a 10 round elastic shellholder on the buttstock. They are hunting rifles for me and still get a ton of range time.

If you are located near Modesto you are welcome to shoot mine. Also if you reload I have a bunch of data for accuracy and speed over my chrono if you want it.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Oooh, what have you got for the 7mm-08? I started putting together some a little bit ago, but only recently got a chrony and haven't had a chance to do anymore load development.

I have one in .308 and it is my favorite rifle

I have a Tikka T3 in .308. I'll be taking it out tomorrow, working on getting better with it. I bought it for hunting & hope to do so someday soon. I like it, great trigger too.
Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!

I have a T3 Lite in .223 and a Tikka Sporter in .308. Both are remarkable. Smoothest action in anything within 2x-3x the price, very accurate, seem to be well made. Great shooters.
I can't find anything wrong with either. I also have a Rem 700 CDL in .223. The Tikka is a better gun in every respect. OK, the CDL has a nicer looking stock...

I have a .243 T-3 Lite that shoots way better than it "should." 70 gr Blitzkings over Varget will go well under an inch at 100 yards with many groups at about half that. It shoots so well that I bought a second one in .300 Win Mag. The pre-fit Limbsaver went on the .300 while the .243 is still just like it came from the box. The factory rings worked well on the .243, but the screws could not be tightened enough on the .300 without stripping. I put Talley rings in the .300. The .300 in that light rifle really jumps off the bench, but I don't notice the recoil while hunting. As said, great rifles for any price really.

Here's my .308 rig at the range today. 4 times out, I'm getting better & learning it's finicky with ammo. I shot my first true 1MOA with Fed. GMM 175 gn on a warm+ barrel. I only had about 6 of these rounds. This isn't pictured & after pics. Also learning vision is part of my issue. The larger center target is easier to line up with vertical/horizontal markers. I had doubts about the recoil, today I didn't think twice. In all fairness, groups mostly about 2-2.5 MOA, but it's me...Nothing to compare it to, in my experience, but I'm starting to really like my rifle.

I find a 1-inch Avery label dot helps me focus on shooting small. With a varmint 16X or higher scope, I go to a half-inch dot. With my .22 40-X and a 36 power Weaver scope, I use the 1/4 inch dot or smaller at 50 yards. The 50 yard ARA target has a small X-ring.

What loads are you guys using for the T3 lite in 308? I have one that I bought for hog hunting (haven't made it out yet), but haven't found a real accurate load. I mean it is Minute of Hog, but over MOA. Part of it is because it kicks a lot harder than my AR10. I love that the rifle is 7lbs with small scope. I just haven't taken the time to load develop with it, so if anyone has any starting points, I'd appreciate it.

Wish I could come across a T3 Hunter in .308 somewhere to check it out. I've been wanting this rifle for a while but never seen one in person. Nothing but great reviews has almost sold me on one sight unseen.. but I'm still a bit hesitant to buy a gun online without having at least held one in my hands.

The good: cheap, accurate, reliable, good trigger, light. Probably the best factory hunting rifle under $1000.

The bad: Recoil pad is firm, included rings are "meh", mags are $70.

Cool reloader feature: If you like to load SA calibers (243, 260, 308, etc.) longer than the SA mag length, drop in a T3 LA bolt stop, buy a 5 round LA mag and never worry about OAL again.
