Need help with Scope Mount Howa 1500 - 6.5x55

I see there are many different options to scope mounts. Once piece or two piece, medium or low mounts, etc. I have a Stainless Steel barreled action on a Boyd's Forest Camo stock. Similar to the one pictured in the link below:

New Zealands Best Hunting Fishing and Shooting Forum. No Politics and no Money Hungering. Discuss everything from firearms, reloading, hunting, through to dogs, fishing and gamebird shooting. Forum also contains a FREE Buy Sell Swap area.

I want to have a Stainless finish scope mount to match the rifle and the scope I will be purchasing. I know, I am creating a safe queen, but I will take it hunting. Any recommendations on the mount, height, and rings that would be need for a 1 inch scope?

    Thank in advance

These Talley ring mounts are the lightest and cleanest. A picatinny rail is the most versatile.

BTW the Howa accepts all two piece Remington M700 bases. The LA Howa accepts one-piece LA M700 bases. The SA spacing differs.

Awesome. This helps immensely. I like the look of the two separate bases. Any idea on the height of the base needed? I realize that everyone has a a different idea of what is comfortable, but is there a popular option such as medium height that most can live with? What is the difference on the extended bases? Thanks again.

I believe Warne makes a rail and rings for the Howa. Not sure of the finish options.

The ring height is going to be determined by the scope Objective diameter and your cheekweld. Extended bases are used when the scope tube length is too short for the action and/or when you need to move the scope for eye relief.

What you need is going to be determined by the scope you intend to mount. As a rule of thumb, a 50mm scope can be mounted using Med Height rings.

Thanks, all. I will do my research and get back with my ideas before purchasing.
