    Marlin Cowboys

Anyone here collect Marlin Cowboy rifles?

    I've got two, a 45-70 and a 45 Colt

This one is the 45 Colt

    I own a few levers.
    Marlin 357
    Marlin CB 45LC
    They are great guns.

Marlin Cowboy Limiteds are my favorite.
      45 Colt ftw.

Here is my slightly altered 1894CB 2000 made JM.

        Love Cowboy Levers..!

Just last month I picked up a supposedly used 1997 Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited, 44 Magnum, 24 inch barrel. Hex barrel.

I spotted it on the Rack of used rifles on the floor in front of the counter.

Picked it up and couldn't find any safe rash and the chamber looked factory new.

I hadn't planned to buy a Lever that day; I was picking up a handgun after my 10 day.....

While waiting I smart phoned this model. Seemed rare and I just couldn't help myself. I made an offer to the gun store owner, he made a call and my offer was accepted.

It's the top one in this photo....

Bought some dies and another 550 to reload for it.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

1987 Marlin Golden 39A with a '62 Colt Frontier Scout. Only rimfire, but both great to shoot. The Marlin still has the JM "signature" sticker on the lower part of the forearm. Both were inherited from my grandfather.

I don't shoot because I like guns, I shoot because I hate paper.

I have 2 Marlin's both 1894's, both Stainless, one in .38/.357mag and one in .44/.44mag. My .22LR is a Henry Golden Boy.

            Some day I'll find a Colt SAA #1641 to go along with the .357. Until then their paired with a S&W 686+ 4" and a S&W 629 Classic 5".

I'll post pics as soon as I can find or take them.

              I also have a non-cowboy Marlin 1894 44 Mag Stainless and a blue 35 Remington.

I did get a Ruger Super Blackhawk stainless to go with the 1894.

I'd love to get my hands on a .38/357 Marlin, but they are hard to come by. I think the cowboy action type's have glommed onto all of them

Looking forward to your pics, and more Marlin pictures from others.

Unfortunately no Cowboys, but I do have a .44 that I'll never part with!
