    Remington 78 Questions

My local gun store has a Remington model 78 in .243 for sale on the used rack. The original birch stock has been replaced with a Remington 700 BDL stock and it has also had a floor plate kit installed. If I had not seen the barrel marked with a Model 78 I would sworn it was a Model 700 BDL. No rings, but does have iron sights and scope bases.

Any thoughts on this set up? They are asking $500 for it. The metal is about 95% or better and the stock has only a few safe marks.

    Thanks in advance.

Seems about $100 high to me.

      Sounds about right.
